A little while ago I printed Japanese Morning as a poster. It’s now in my living room and it looks fantastic. But what really would complement it are two pictures on the side. This one here is the first in that two part series. It is designed for the left side of it.
It took me quite a while to finish. First of all, this is not a silhouette picture, so alot of details were required for this piece. I spent about a week thinking about the layout, a few days to research some of the materials on the Net and about three days painting it.
The tough part were all those curved lines. They needed to be done right. But finally I put down the last details and I think the composition works great.

Note: Revised version. After some input from Joe I renamed the picture to properly reflect the meaning of the kanji. And I also implemented a few refinements to tweak the steel effect a little bit.
