Approaching Dawn

Would you believe it?!? Already the second one in the space section! If this keeps on going it will deserve (and need) its own page soon… From the darkness of the night into the first morning light of dawn. This painting started as an exercise in planet painting.
When the planet was done I liked it and so it got its own painting. Then I thought, hey, give it some lights! So I brought in the city lights that you can see in the bottom left part. And well, what would a space pic be without the stars…
This took about three hours total. The planet took the most time it was originally done in 3000×3000, so everything too a bit longer. The rest was relatively simple. I hope you like it! Let me know what you think. As always all comments, good or bad, are very welcome…
